PREVIOUS BUSINESSES
Women Moving Forward/Successful Women International
In October 2002, Pierrette founded Women Moving Forward to help herself and women like her live life to the fullest while taking care of themselves. For more than six years, women met in person and online to discuss topics relating to health & fitness, business & career, humanitarism & community, family and fun. Pierrette was the host of her own internet radio show whereby she interviewed leading women from around the world on topics that would motivate and inspire women to step out of their proverbial comfort zones and try new things. Through her work at Women Moving Forward, Pierrette also provided a yearly retreat for women where they could be adventurous and try new things while taking the time to reflect and nourish their soul.
Without the help of social media, Women Moving Forward (later changed to Successful Women International) grew to more than 2000 members in more than five different countries.
Because of Pierrette’s experience and expertise in the fields of business and personal growth, she is often asked to speak to entrepreneurs, corporations, associations and community groups. Under the banner of Breakaway2Success, Pierrette has spoken to and inspired thousands of people to look at their lives through the lens of possibility to create the future of their dreams.
Her further studies in death, dying and bereavement and the numerous and varied personal losses she has had to experience throughout her life and most recently have expanded her depth and knowledge to the point where she is a leading voice in helping people move forward professionally and personally.
This is when the entrepreneurial bug bit Pierrette. In 1997, Pierrette attended a Pampered Chef home cooking show. At that time, she was a substitute teacher who was raising her two children at home. When she saw the products for the first time, she knew she wanted to own them. What better way to do that then start a business showing her family and friends these wonderful cooking tools.
For three-and-a-half years, Pierrette sold the Pampered Chef kitchen tools through home demonstrations and made her way to being one of the top in the company. She recruited and trained more than twenty-five women to own their own businesses and she also earned two incentive trips – one to Hawaii and the other to the Dominican Republic. Her additional income and success allowed her and her husband to move from the small northern Ontario town of Timmins to the nation’s capital of Ottawa to start their very successful business called 1-800-GOT-JUNK?.
