My story

Thirty years of building and leading.

I’ve been in business for 30 years. I grew up in Timmins, Ontario, started my first business in 1996, and women have worked alongside me from the very beginning.

I was the first woman franchise partner at 1-800-GOT-JUNK?. For 25 years I was CEO of 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Ottawa and Gatineau, leading the culture, the training, the hiring, the customer experience and the people. I helped build the franchise system’s first marketing plan and served three years on its Franchise Advisory Council. I led the business through the 2008 financial crisis and through COVID, and it sold in November 2025.

From 2010 to 2020 I built and ran Moving Forward Matters, a home-transition business that helped women and families through difficult moves. I sold it to my manager.

And I’ve always built with women. In 2002 I founded Women on the Move, which grew to more than 1,200 members before social media and became Women Moving Forward. In 2014 I started Women Living Fully, a community of more than 1,000 women. Thousands of women have been part of the communities I’ve built, and along the way I wrote four books.

Why now

Why I’m doing this work now.

After the sale, I took time to rest and reflect. What I missed most wasn’t the business. It was the people: watching someone grow, working through a hard problem together, seeing what’s possible before they can see it themselves.

So that’s what I do now, privately, with a very small number of women who have already built something real and are asking what comes next.

I live on 44 acres outside Ottawa. It’s where I walk, think and do my best planning.

If you’ve been asking what’s next, let’s talk.

I take on only a few women at a time. If this sounds like you, start with a short application.

Based in Ottawa. Working with women across Canada and beyond, in person and on Zoom.
