Three Motivations to Get Fit!

by Elizabeth Anderson

Any transformation, especially weight loss, can be tough!

You will need to pass by cookies at the office, exercise even when you are tired, keep jumping rope even when you see your cellulite jiggling in the mirror, and more.

This is why I can’t stress the importance of motivation enough. You MUST, MUST, MUST have a goal and a motivation that is bigger than those cookies or your tired muscles.

Here are a few powerful motivators that I LOVE. Choose the ones that work best for YOU!

1. NEW CLOTHING: Buy yourself a new dress, workout outfit, golf shirt, or pair of jeans in a couple sizes smaller than you are now. Hang this item where you can see it every day. Visualize yourself wearing this item and looking and feeling amazing!

2. COMPLIMENTS: Write down 3 compliments you are going to love getting when you reach your goal – here are a few examples:

“Wow – you look 10 years younger!”
“Oh my – you look so healthy and strong.”
“How did you lose so much weight?”

3. AN EVENT: Book an event – a 5k race, family photos, a trip to Cancun – whatever motivates YOU!

Once the event is booked – you will track your success leading up to the event. So, for example, a good amount of weight to lose each week is 2 lbs. If your event is in 6 weeks, then you can expect to be 12 lbs. lighter by your event.

  • Mark on your calendar your weight each week.
  • If you are 160 now, then in 1 week mark on your calendar that you are 158.
  • Then in one more week you mark that you are at 156……and so on. 2 lbs. less each week.

Literally put this right into your calendar in your phone or computer. This way you can see the number.

Then – on the day or your event, mark your goal weight. So for this example that would be 148 lbs.

This is very powerful – I used this EVERY single time I competed and won fitness competitions! You will love it!
