Do you remember when your children asked you why the sky was blue and you had to think of a great answer that would make sense and satisfy them too? In fact, did you know that “Why Is The Sky Blue?” is one of Google’s most asked questions? To save you from looking it up, here is what Google has to say when you ask what makes the sky blue, just for fun:
A clear cloudless day-time sky is blue because molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light. When we look towards the sun at sunset, we see red and orange colours because the blue light has been scattered out and away from the line of sight.
And this also explains why we have gorgeous sunsets of bright orange and red.
Why am I sharing this with you? Because we don’t often know the reasons why things are the way they are until we stop and ask the question to then find the answer.
When it comes to our lives, we often see what we see but we don’t stop to ask why they are the way they are. In fact, many of us are living on autopilot and we are moving through our days, day after day, week after week with the same problems, issues and challenges without asking ourselves why they are the way they are.
Same with clutter, financial challenges, pain in our heart. We may know the reasons they are the way they are at the surface level, like the sky is blue because it’s a beautiful summer day, but we don’t know what is going on underneath.
Why are things they way they are? Why are you struggling? Where is the pain coming from? What is the real truth behind the clutter?
Unfortunately Google will not have those answers. No one has those answers but you. And it’s taking the time to stop and ask yourself why things are the way they are, at a much deeper level, can you then begin to find the answers that may free you from your pain, your sadness, your challenges and your clutter.
- 1. What are the true feelings you are feeling day after day? What is the real pain that you are experiencing?
- 2. Why do you hang on to stuff when you know you should let it go?
- 3. What have you done to define your challenges so that you can identify them, give them a name and then deal with them?
- 4. How do you deal with pain & overwhelm in your life? Do you numb it? Do you run from it? Do you confront it?
- 5. What strategies do you use to heal your pain? Do you have pain relief strategies that don’t come in a bottle or from a food container, or your wallet?
- 6. What can you do right now, in this moment, to take a step in healing your pain, reducing your clutter and letting go of stuff that no longer serves you?
The sky will continue to be blue even on cloudy days. Just above the clouds is the sun and the blue sky that awaits us all. It is always there when we know the real nature of what is going on and we then take steps to heal the pain we are experiencing.
