No need to spend a lot of money on supplies to declutter, get organized or start a downsizing project. Here are some things you’ll want to have handy before you get started that you can easily find at your local grocery store.
Watch the video:
Supplies:
1. Bags: Have clear bags for donations, coloured bags for recycling and black bags for garbage. You will avoid throwing out good items if you have put them in clear or coloured bags.
2. Boxes: You can pick up boxes from the produce or flower department which can be used for paper, magazines and other paper products that you will recycle. Be careful when using grocery store boxes for packing for a move as they are not constructed with the same reinforcements as moving boxes.
3. Labelling supplies: In the stationary department, pick up coloured markers, masking or labelling tape to label the boxes and containers you will use or keep for future use.
If you missed the first part of this month’s videos about decluttering, organizing and downsizing, be sure to watch the “Protective Equipment Must-Haves for an Organizing, Decluttering and Downsizing Project” video that I shot at a local Home Depot store. (Want to skip the video? Get masks, gloves and eye protection before you start!)
Last week’s article was about the “Hidden Dangers of Dust & Allergens” and boy do I wish I knew about them before! I can’t be in a room with heavy dust, mold or other allergens before I start to react to them physically. Don’t pay the price I have had to pay. You can protect yourself and your loved ones!
