Kia Rainbow is the Executive Director of Interval House Ottawa. Kia is at the centre of the organization’s operations and is the liaison between the staff, board of directors and funders. Kia also teaches a Social Work program at Carleton University and has thirty years of experience working in the field of violence against women. 

Interval House Ottawa is a shelter for abused women, their children and their family pets.

Interval House Ottawa has been in operation since 1976 started by a grassroots feminist organization with just four beds operating on donations from the community. Interval House Ottawa now has thirty beds, a transitional program and crisis helpline. They operate 24/7 to serve the community.
